| Turkey Wrote off Six Zeros from Her Monetary Unit, TL |

Turkey's monetary unit, namely Turkish Lira(TL) has been replaced with New TL, namely YTL, which is equal to TL1,000,000. Currently, one USD is equal to around 1,39 YTL and one Euro is equal to 1,80 YTL.
The TL will be in curcilation for one more year that is until the end of 2005. Then, only the new banknotes and coins will be exchanged.
